Seat Belt Buckles are described as the quick-release device which enables the wearer to be held by the belt. Buckles, sometimes referred to as the seat belt clip or clasp come in a variety of designs to suit a variety of applications. The design, colour and attributes of seat belt buckles are comprehensively covered by AS/NZS 2596. 

Please note: Buckle length is measured from the end of the buckle head to the centre of the anchoring hole, in a straight line.

Stalk Buckle Tunnel Mount Buckle head is swaged onto a length of flexible steel cable, anchored by a flat steel plate to the side wall of the transmission tunnel or some other vertical surface. Suits both right hand or left hand positions. Available lengths: 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm.

Stalk Buckle Floor Mount Buckle head is swaged onto a length of flexible steel cable, anchored by an angled steel plate to the floor of the vehicle or some other horizontal surface. Buckles are specific to right hand or left hand positions. Available lengths: 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm.

Stem Buckle Buckle head is rivetted to a length of rigid steel plate anchored to the side of the occupant's seat. Steel stem may have bends to shape around the cushion of the seat. Suits both right hand or left hand positions on single seats. Available lengths: 110mm, 135mm 170mm, 210mm.

Webbing Buckle Fixed Length Buckle head has a length seat belt webbing looped through its low end and the loop is then stitched. The webbing is then looped through a triangular shaped steel anchoring plate and again stitched. May be mounted to the vehicle or the seat. Suits all seat belt positions. Available lengths: 190mm, 275mm, 425mm, 500mm.

Webbing Buckle Adjustable Length Buckle head has a length seat belt webbing looped through its low end and the webbing is then stitched. At the other end the webbing is looped through a steel plate and is then over locked. The webbing length may be adjusted to suit and when the steel plate is anchored to the vehicle the webbing is crimped such that its length is no longer adjustable. Floor mounting. Suits all seat belt positions although usually used in rear seat applications. Available lengths: Adjustable 150mm - 610mm, 150mm - 950mm.

Some buckles with an internal electric switch are available. The switch can be wired to either open or close a circuit depending on application.
